Carolyn S. Lang
Owner, Creative Director, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Drill Team, Technique Instructor
Carolyn S. Lang (Owner, Creative Director, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Drill Team, Technique Instructor) has over 25 years of dance and cheer training and choreography experience. Originally from Carrollton, she is a former R.L. Turner Lionette, where she served as Lieutenant her Junior and Senior year. She acquired numerous dance awards, including being a selected a 4 time ADTS All American, a 2 time ADTS Gold Dance Company member, 4th Runner up Miss Drill Team South Texas Soloist, and a 2 time ADTS National Champion. Carolyn attended Tyler Junior College where she performed as a member of the world famous Apache Belles, serving as Dance Captain her sophomore year, and Texas Tech University where she performed as a member of the award winning Texas Tech Pom Squad, serving as Captain her senior year. She was also selected an NCA All American. Carolyn received an Associate of Arts Degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and a Bachelor of Science in Dance and Health Education. She also holds her Secondary Teacher’s Certification in Dance and Health. While at TTU, she performed regularly as a member of the Willis Ballet Company. Carolyn continued with a professional teaching career as the Director of the Sanger HS Cherokee Charmer Drill Team, and a professional dance career as a member of the Kansas City Wizards Girls (MLS), Kansas City Brigade Girls (AFL), and Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders (NFL). She has also worked as a choreographer, instructor, and judge for American Dance/Drill Team School since 1991, and choreographed ADTS All American and Junior All American halftime performances for Dallas Mavericks games. She has taught at various studios, including Studio J in Kansas City and served as Assistant Cheer Coach for Steppin’ Out The Studio in Lee’s Summit, Mo. Acting is also a part of her resume with numerous commercial credits (Old Spice, Fox 4 Weather, Argosy Casino, Psychic Power Network, etc…), as well as acting performances in short films (“Burned”, “The Enumerators”, “The Apology Dance”, “Cliffhanger Falls”, and “Straight No Chaser”). Carolyn brings her passion for teaching to A Body In Motion and looks forward to training the next generation of performers!
Holly Bowling (Teaching Assistant) has been dancing since the age of 2 and has trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, and Contemporary. She has studied at MELBA’s School of Dance, Ballet Conservatory, Dance Industry, and Paragon Dance Studio. Holly has also served as a performing member of Intensity Dance Company, a competitive dance program in Lewisville. Currently a 3-year member of the National Champion Hebron High School Silver Wings, Holly was selected to their Elite Dance Team, served as Sophomore Lieutenant her Sophomore year, and is presently a Junior Lieutenant. She plans to attend Kilgore College and audition for the 80th Line of the World Famous Kilgore College Rangerettes. Afterwards, Holly plans to continue her education and pursue her dream of becoming a physical therapist. Holly loves instructing young students and we look forward to watching her continue to grow as a teacher and performer at Motion!
Cella Linebarger (Teaching Assistant) has been dancing and cheering since the age of 3 and has trained in the areas of Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Cheer, and Pom. She has studied at Top Hat Dance Center, Diane Cole Johnson School of Dance, and Texas Cheer All-Stars. Cella has performed competitively as a member of Diane Cole Johnson’s Divas Competition Dance Team and Texas All-Star Cheer’s Pom and Cheer Teams. She is a former Middle School Cheerleader and is currently a 3-year member of the National Champion Hebron High School Silver Wings, where Cella was selected to their Elite Dance Team and presently serves as Junior Lieutenant. After graduation, she plans to attend Kilgore College and audition for the 80th Line of the World Famous Kilgore College Rangerettes and then continue her education at Texas State University to pursue her goal of becoming a dance teacher and choreographer. We are excited to have Cella expand her teaching experience at Motion and encourage our students to pursue their passion!
Hip Hop Instructor and Teaching Assistant
Rocio Rivera (Hip Hop Instructor and Teaching Assistant) is a graduate of Creekview High School where she was a three year performing member of the Creekview Dance Program. She was also selected to the National Honor Society of Dance Arts while attending CHS. Rocio is currently a Dance major at Collin County Community College. Passionate about her dance training, Rocio plans to eventually transfer to a university so she can pursue her dream of becoming a professional dancer and choreographer. We are thrilled to have someone with her heart and drive developing our young Hip Hop performers and look forward to her expanding her horizons as a dancer and instructor at Motion!
Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Contemporary Instructor
Kristin Denson (Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Contemporary Instructor) started dancing at the age of 4 and has trained in the genres of Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet, Modern, and Clogging. She studied at Power Dance Productions Dance Studio, where she performed competitively for 10 years, and Top Hat Dance Centre. A graduate of Creekview High School, Kristin was a three-year member of the award-winning Cheval’s Drill Team, where she served as Lieutenant her Junior and Senior year. While at CHS, she was awarded Most Outstanding Dancer three years in a row and received technique and leadership awards. Kristin also placed 1st Overall for her solo at the Dallas Mavericks Competition at the American Airlines Center her senior year. Following high school, Kristin graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography. While attending Texas State, she was a performing member of Orchesis Dance Company for three years, serving as Financial Director her sophomore year and Artistic Director her junior year. Her senior year she was a proud member of Merge Dance Company, the touring/performing ensemble at Texas State, hand-picked by the faculty. Kristin was the only senior to receive the J. Ralph Harrel Outstanding Senior Award for Texas State’s Dance Department for her high GPA and dedication. Kristin has since been teaching at various prestigious studios, directing dance teams, and has choreographed multiple national champion routines for soloists and groups. Kristin has devoted her life to developing and nurturing young performers and we can’t wait to watch her students at A Body In Motion excel!
Dance Company Assistant, Jazz, Drill Team, Contemporary, Cheer, and Hip Hop Instructor
Taylor Wilson (Dance Company Assistant, Jazz, Drill Team, Contemporary, Cheer, and Hip Hop Instructor) has been dancing since the age of 13. She is a former middle school cheerleader and was a 4-year performing member of the National Champion Hebron High School Silver Wings Drill Team. During her tenure as a Silver Wing, Taylor was selected to their Elite Dance Team and served as Junior Lieutenant and then as Captain her junior and senior year. She is currently attending Texas Women’s University where she is both cheering and dancing is a member of the TWU Pioneers Dance Team and is pursuing a degree in Nursing. Taylor is excited to instruct students at Motion and help our Dance Company members perform at a higher level!
Co-owner, CFO, Cheer Administrator
Cindy K. Godwin (Owner, CFO, Cheer Administrator) is a graduate of R.L. Turner High School where she was a cheerleader and an award winning Lionette. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Le Tourneau University and has been employed with Coca-Cola for over 25 years. Cindy also owns and operates a successful internet business website, Hurripanel Fasteners, Inc. She is the ultimate “Cheer Mom” as she spent 14 years supporting her daughter, Motion instructor Andrea Rabenaldt, as she trained in school and competition cheer programs and works diligently to promote our Motion Xtreme Cheer Team. We love and appreciate our ultimate Cheer Mom and feel so blessed to have her rooting from the sidelines for our future cheerleaders!
Zumba and Tap Instructor, Digital Marketing Manager
Katinya Lilly (Zumba and Tap Instructor, Digital Marketing Manager) is a wife, mother, and Analytics Manager for a Fortune 200 company. One of her first life passions was dance and she has been sharing that passion for over 30 years through choreography, dance performances, and fitness classes. She was a member of the Longview HS Viewettes Drill Team, serving as Lieutenant her senior year. Katinya attended Tyler Junior College as a member of the world famous Apache Belles where she performed for then President-Elect Bill Clinton at the Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington DC. She then transferred and completed her education at the University of Texas at Austin where she performed as a member of the award-winning Texas Pom Squad. Katinya continued to perform in various capacities through the years, including being a background dancer for a local singer, choreographing for area pageants, and directing church praise dance organizations. Katinya launched Shake, Jump, Move, Dance & Fitness Company in 2010 which offers praise fitness, dance instruction, and Zumba classes for individuals and groups, while also offering dance classes and personal choreography sessions in the dance mediums of modern, praise dance, tap, and drill team. She is also the former Head Cheer Coach of our Motion Xtreme Cheer Team. Katinya brings her lifelong love of performance to Motion and wants to help all of her students reach their fullest potential
Dance Company Director, Pointe, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Drill Team Instructor
Nicole Funderburg (Dance Company Director, Pointe, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Drill Team Instructor) is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dance and holds her Secondary Teacher’s Certification in Dance, American Sign Language, and Physical Education. She has trained extensively in the ballet styles of Cecchetti, Bouronville, and Neoclassical, as well the dance mediums of modern, tap, jazz, hip hop and drill team. While at SFA, Nicole performed as a member of Repertory Dance Company and the National Champion SFA Pom Squad. After college, Nicole continued her dance career as a member of Votum Dance Company and she has trained and performed both nationally and internationally, most recently in Spain, Germany, and Poland. She is currently employed as a dance teacher at Frisco High School and also serves as the Director of the Frisco Stars Dance Team. Nicole brings her love of dance to our students and will develop classically trained performers with Motion!
Assistant Director Blackout Crew Junior Hip Hop Team, Cheer, Tumbling, and Hip Hop Instructor
Andrea Rabenaldt (Assistant Director Blackout Crew Junior Hip Hop Team, Cheer, Tumbling, and Hip Hop Instructor) has 14 years of competitive Cheer, Tumbling, and Hip Hop training with Cougar Cheer Company and Cheer Athletics. A graduate of Newman Smith High School, she was selected cheerleader all 4 years, serving 3 years as squad Captain. Andrea is a 6 time UCA National Champion and a 2 time UCA All-Star. She has performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC and the New Year’s Parade in London. Andrea is also a former member of A Body In Motion’s Hip Hop team, Blackout, and a former Head Cheer Coach for our Motion Xtreme Cheer Team. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of North Texas and is certified EC-12 in the areas of Physical Education and Health and 4th -8th in Math. Currently a 7th Grade Pre-AP math teacher at Vivian Field Middle School, she coaches girls volleyball, girls basketball, girls track, and serves as the Director of the Pep Squad. Andrea has a lifelong passion for all things cheer and dance and we are blessed to have her share her knowledge with our students at Motion!
Jazz, Tap Instructor
Kate Haas (Jazz, Tap Instructor) has been dancing since the age of 3 and has trained in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. Originally from Millsboro, DE, she studied at Dance Alley Dance Studio where she was a member of the Alley Cats Competitive Dance Troupe for 8 years. Kate has competed across the U.S. and won numerous dance awards in solos, duos, trios, and large group numbers. Her performance career continued into college as a member of the Knight Dance Club at Arcadia University in Glenside, PA and Orchesis Dance Club at Columbia University in New York, NY. Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Arcadia University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Columbia University. Her teaching career began at the age of 15 at her hometown studio. In 2013, she relocated to Dallas and now continues to teach at A Body In Motion The Studio. She enjoys sharing her love of dance with younger generations and we look forward to watching her students continue to grow under her guidance at Motion!
Baton Twirling Instructor
Joe Hudson (Baton Twirling) is an accomplished Baton Twirler from Easton, PA. He has won several awards including State and Regional titles from NBTA and AAU. At AYOP Twirling Nationals, Joe placed 3rd in Men’s Solo Category, 3rd in Men’s World Open Category, and 5th in Rhythmic Twirl. Twirling since the age of 12, Joe trained at Cheryl Chickey’s All-American Twirlers where he performed in the Miss America Parade in Atlantic City, the “America Starts Here” 4th of July Parade in Philadelphia, and at several competitions and community performances. He was the Feature Twirler for his alma mater, the Easton Area High School Red Rover Marching Band. Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Studies and Dance Performance from the University of Tennessee where he was also a member of the UT Dance Company, performing in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, and Hip Hop. His performance pieces were selected to be featured at ACDFA (American College Dance Festival Association) in Gainesville, FL. Joe has worked as a high school Majorette coach and choreographer, and has taught clinics to Majorette Squads throughout Tennessee. He is also a certified judge with the National Baton Twirling Association. We are excited to see Baton Twirling return to the Dallas area and can’t wait to watch Coach Joe train future Majorettes at Motion!
Joseph (Joe) Strohl
Musical Theater Instructor
Joseph (Joe) Strohl (Musical Theater Instructor) is originally from Albuquerque, NM, and studied music and voice from an early age, taking lessons from his father who was a Band Director and private music teacher. At the age of 8, he was selected as a member of the Albuquerque Boys Choir. By age 11, Joe was performing with the Newmexichords Barber Shop Chorus. In high school, he was chosen New Mexico All-State in both Voice and Trumpet. Joe later studied Music Education and Vocal Performance at the University of New Mexico before relocating to Texas. He holds an Associates in Theatre Arts from Brookhaven College and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Texas. Joe has performed professionally both as an actor and musician (trumpet) with Lyric Stage, Theatre Three, Theatre Arlington, Denton Musical Theatre, Coppell Theatre, and several other community venues. He has also toured with the award winning production of Avenue Q directed by Tony Award winner, Michael Serrechia. By day, Joe repairs musical instruments at Music and Arts and is a national clinician and the Instructor of Instrument Repair for Arlington ISD. He has two beautiful children, Shira and Barton, with his amazing wife of over 20 years, Nancy. Joe is proud to be a member of A Body In Motion and carries on his family’s legacy of instruction in the arts with our young performers!
